He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Parton and Betty Parton; his stepmother Isabel Melville-Parton; and his parents-in-law, Winton and Doris MacKay.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen (MacKay); his children, Josh Parton (Jessica) and Lydia Ellis (Phil); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Gavin and Kenzie; his siblings, Jim Parton (Lorna) and Carol Suess (Terry); his brothers-in-law, Winton MacKay and Dave MacKay (Andrea); and his nieces and nephews, Dylan (Carrie), Kelly Davies (Jon), Brendon Suess (Trish), Darryl Suess (Ashley), Nolan Suess (Danielle), Chris MacKay (Michelle), Megan and Lauren MacKay. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
