He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn; his daughter Valerie Kirchner (Mark); his siblings, Bill (Annie) and Annie Hare (William); and his sister-in-law Pearl Durnford (Abraham).

He is survived by: his children, Cathy (Ron Nash) and Darrell Marsden; his grandchildren, Katherine and Cameron Kirchner; his siblings, Roy (Jane), Clyde (Marge) and Rita Hardy (late Cecil); and his brother-in-law Hayward Cake (Marjorie). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
