He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Birrell and Cecil Birrell. He is survived by: his children, Dana Birrell, Ian Birrell (Tanya) and Andrea Birrell (Tom); his close friend Eldra Fletcher; his grandchildren, David Moss (Travis), Kate, Moss (Aaron), Myah, Eric Birrell, Tyler (Emily), Emma and Lea Cole; his great grandchildren, Hayden and Hudsyn; his sister Debi McNichol (Jim); and the mother of his children Donna Birrell Westlake.
