He was predeceased by: his son Joe Colangelo; his parents, Antonio Colangelo and Carmela Colangelo; his siblings, Mary Colangelo, Lucy Young, Ann DiMarco, Connie Notar, Arthur, John and Tony; and his significant other Patricia Colangelo.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Terranova and Marla Ciantar; his grandchildren, Christopher Terranova, Christina Ciantar Smith (Turner) and Stephanie Ciantar; and his great grandchildren, Scarlett and Charlie.
