With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Bruce Beck (Port Colborne, Ontario), who passed away on April 11, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Beck and Betty Beck. He is survived by: his close friend Carol Boneberg; his sons, Ryan (Kristi) and Michael (Erin); his grandchildren, Conner, Khloe, Summer and Chelsea (Laszlo); his great grandchild Zayden; his sisters, Sheila Otterman (Donny) and Sharon; his nieces and nephews, Danny, Kristie, Lisa and Robert; and his former wife Sonja Green (Archie). He is also survived by many friends and cousins.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

“I was very shocked and saddened to hear Doug had passed away. Doug played bass guitar as a band member for several years beginning in the early 60's. He was a great musician, and friend, always quiet, unassuming. I would sometimes stop in for a beer, at his home during summer whenever I was in Port Colborne, and he was always welcomming. Doug was a bit of a philosopher at times when we discussed "important" issues. I enjoyed it. I will miss him, as we all will.”

“I’ve known Doug since mid 60’s. Good guitarist, played in a band “The Cavalier’s”. Sept./22, calls me. He wants to buy a Saxophone. Gave him a good insight, owning and playing a Sax. He got a new Sax. Spoke many times on learning to play his new Sax. Loved it so much he got a 2nd Sax. He progressed well and quick. Spent time together. NOW, EVERY TIME, I pick up my Sax to play a tune, my mind and thoughts are on one very Good Friend I will miss forever: “ DOUG".”
