He was predeceased by: his spouse Terry Joanisse; his parents, Gerald and Goldie; his son Jamie Bonnar; his brothers, Leonard Bonnar, Eric Bonnar and Gerald Bonnar; and his brother-in-law Joseph Smith.

He is survived by: his siblings, Doreen Smith, Florence Kempt (Elmer), Bonita Barrie, Christena Bonnar (Moe), Catherine Bonnar and Willard Bonnar (Rosemary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
