He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Champis and Shirley Champis; his brother-in-law Peter Papko; and his parents-in-law, Matilda and Zoli Toth.

He is survived by: his wife Anne V. Champis; his children, Joey Champis (Debbie) and Jimmy Champis; his grandchildren, Ryan (Ally), Emily, Lindsay, Sarah and Cody; his brother Joe Champis; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Champis and Aranka Papko. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
