He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Smith and Pearl Smith; and his sisters, Linda Taylor, Paula Wade and Katherine Wismer.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his sons, Scott, Steven (Karen) and Sean (Jennifer); his stepdaughter Amanda Koiter Plain; his grandson Charlie Smith; and his mother-in-law Carmen Buri. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St Therese of Lisieux would be appreciated by the family.
