He was predeceased by: his parents, George Tryon and JoAnn Rivais (Paul); and his brother Brian. He is survived by: his partner Shirley Brusaw of Dayton, Ohio.; his sons, Ken of Drumbo and Tom (Shantel) of Mount Elgin; his grandchildren, Nick, Carter and Quinn; his siblings, Jim (Chris) of Ayr, Ed (Donna) of Ingersoll, Dale of Burk's Falls, Kim Rivais of Drumbo and Karen Rivais of Brantford; and his stepmother Gloria Tryon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
