He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Mary Ann Smith; and his wife Marlene Smith (Bain). He is survived by: his children, Karen (Mike), Diane (Bob) and Kevin; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Christine (Joey), Sarah (Dillon), Laura (Itana), Julie (Andre), Kim (Eric) and Kristy (Craig); his great grandchildren, Brycen, Jaxon, Easton, Tenley, Stella, Vinny and Brother Walter; and his kitty Tuppence. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Cancer Society or Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
