He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Nelson and Wilhelmina Nelson; his wives, Doris Nelson and Arlene Corbett-Nelson; and his sister Joan Wilson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jacqueline van Klaveren (Karl) and Michelle Deschamps (Phil); his grandchildren, Nicole Brown (Ethan), Nelson van Klaveren (Karen), Victoria Wright (Jake) and Samantha Deschamps; his great grandchild Malcolm Brown; and his children, Jaxon, Benjamin and Delilah.
