She was predeceased by: her husband Brian "Bruin" VanderBy; her son Harry; and her siblings, Baukje Kloosterman, Harmen (late Nelly), Ytje Hoekstra (late George), Margaret "Grietje" Hyma (late Kees), John Kloosterman (Margaret), Al "Eelke" Kloosterman (Truus) and Tjitske "Tina" Kloosterman.

She is survived by: her sons, Robert (Jean), Paul and Allan; her granddaughters, Christine Newell (Mark) and Sonia Wolfe (Barry); her great grandchildren, Samantha, Katherine Newell, Aiden and Amara Wolfe; and her siblings, Siebe Kloosterman (Emmy), Dorothy "Dirkje" Scholten (late Harmen) and Bernard "Binne" Kloosterman (Nellie).
