She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Crawford (Pearl Crawford) and Sally Crawford; her husband Jim Swanston; and her siblings, Douglas Crawford and Jean McLeod.

She is survived by: her daughters, Anne (Wayne Ross), Jan (late Robert van Velzen), Karen (Randy Sjolin) and Cathy (Roy Ramos); and her grandchildren, Gordon, Ian, Erika, Julia, Cassie, Sam, Luz and Stephanie. She is also survived by her family and friends.
