She was predeceased by: her husband Arend. She is survived by: her children, Ann (Elliott), Peter (Karen) and Frits (Clair); her grandchildren, Matthew, Cara, Aidan and Stephanie (Kern); her great grandchildren, Jayden and Kendal; and her brothers, Pieter and Frits.

As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders or The Christian Children's Fund of Canada.
