He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Bowers (Awilda) and Elsie Bowers; and his siblings, Barbara, Betty Ann, Bob and Phyllis.

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Kelly (Shawn), Jeffrey and Kimberly (Mike); his grandchildren, Lindsay, Ben (Rachel), Michael, Sonja and Brittney; and his brothers, Rick (Sue) and Dan (Janice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
