He is survived by: his wife Martha; his daughters, Carola (Ed), Sylvia (Ken), Margaret (Jan) and Adelaide (Peter); his grandchildren, Adam (Rae), Lilith, Luke (Nicole), Stefan (Tamara), Elena (Stewart), Pieter (April), Ben (Cindy), John, David (Brittaney), Daren (Carissa) and Stephanie (Marc); his great grandchildren, Navy, Eleanor, Delilah, Cole, Oliver, Charlotte, Scotlynn and Erly; his brother Bernd (Doris); and his sister-in-law Erna.
