He was predeceased by: his wife Regina Decarlo-Zakarow; and his brother James Baird. He is survived by: his sister Margaret Hay; his niece Dianne Doxsee (Doug); his great-nephew Patrick; his nephew Jim Baird (Wendy); his great-niece Janis Jackson (Mike); and his great-nephew Jim L. Baird (Julie).

There will be no public gathering at this time due to covid restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Salvation Army or Hospice Peterborough.

“To GEorge Baird's family and friends:Just now I have discovered that George has passed from this world.I pray he made the journey to the Light ,to Heaven.For several years I was hired as their gardener(Regina and George) and became a friend and companion of both of them.On occasion I dropped by to see how George was after Regina passed away.Lately I missed visiting and am now sending my condolences to all who knew him.George was a lovely man and how he truly loved Regina.”
