He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Downer and Nataline Downer; and his siblings, Dorothy, Robert, Barbara, Wilfred, Basil, Patricia and Newton.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Bertrim; his daughters, Theresa Lear (Robin) and Kerri Downer; his stepsons, Jeffrey Bertrim and Andrew Bertrim (Melissa); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cameron and Theodore; and his siblings, Margaret, Janet, Rebecca and Phillip.
In memory of David and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
