He was predeceased by: his parents, Sandra (Murray Sell) and Carol (late Terry Howard); and also, Edith Simpson, Evelyn Dougherty, Faye Anderson and Ronald Dougherty (Lynn).

He is survived by: his spouse Marg (Dougherty); his children, Pamela (Jonathan Hewett) and Todd (Shauna Perry); his grandchildren, Ty, Quinn Van Hoof, Jack, Nate Behnke, Autumn, Oakley and Daisy Hewett; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor (late Marvin McLaughlin), Bethea (Ralph Little), Robert Dougherty and Lynn Hawthorne; and also Beverly Oelke.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (605 Black Bay Rd, Petawawa, ON K8H2W8).
