He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta Brooks (Masterson); his parents, Edward F. Brooks and Isobel Brooks (Noonan); and his sisters, Mary, Patsy, Betty and Susan.

He is survived by: his children, John (Elizabeth Rush), Patrick (Allison Presley), Terry (Nora FitzGerald), Sarah (David Burtnick), Edward (Kate McIntyre) and Matthew (Laura McNulty); and his siblings, Bill (Joan), Michael and D'Arcy. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
