He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard McConnell and Clara McConnell; his former wife Joan McConnell (Gray); his siblings, Ken McConnell (Peggy), Leslie McConnell (Mary) and Jean Ritchie (Lorne); his parents-in-law, Alden and Ann Gray; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra and Keith.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Moyle (Mark), Bradley McConnell (Helen) and Kim McConnell (Bob Heid); his grandchildren, Morgann Moyle (Chris Chen), Zissis McConnell, Marilena McConnell, Olivia Heid and Mackenzie Heid; his siblings-in-law, Garnet Gray (Janet) and Diane Gray; his children, Dean McLenaghan (Krista), Julie Schoular (Jamie), Derek McLenaghan (Lisa) and John; and also, Daniel McLenaghan, Drew McLenaghan, Morgan McLenaghan, Abbey McLenaghan, Shae-Leigh Gordon, Noah Gordon, William Schoular, Nathaniel McLenaghan, Owen McLenaghan, Ella McLenaghan and John. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Blair & Son Funeral Home (15 Gore St W, Perth, ON K7H2L7).
In memory of John, if desired, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Paul's United Church in Perth or Perth Enrichment Program (PEP).
