He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Tomalty (Fox); his parents, Carson Tomalty and Edna Tomalty; his siblings, Jean Harrison (Charles) and Hap Tomalty (Arlene); and his son-in-law Alan Fyke.
He is survived by: his children, Sheryl Cross (Jon), Kathy Fyke (Bob), Nancy Tomalty (Tanya) and Sean Tomalty (Nathalie); and his siblings, Joyce McIntyre (Lennie), Grace Thompson (Doug), Bob Tomalty (Faye) and Linda McDonald (Malcolm). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
