We are sad to announce that on September 8, 2024, at the age of 99, Amy Aileen Hughes (Perth, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Amy Aileen is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Amy Aileen's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Munro and Alice Munro (Armstrong); her husband James Hughes; and her siblings, Stuart Munro, Laura Poole, Edna Ritchie and Hilda Hinge.
She is survived by: her siblings, Arthur Munro (Susan), Ethel Clark, Irene Hawley and Alan Munro (Maxeen); and her sister-in-law Eleanor Munro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, all her extended relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Blair & Son Funeral Home (15 Gore St W, Perth, ON K7H2L7). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Bethel United Church (1500 Rideau Ferry Rd, Perth, ON K7H3C7).
