He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Sylvester and Karen Sylvester; his siblings, Brian Sylvester and Crystal (Roland); and his nephew Matthew.

He is survived by: his siblings, David (Roxanne), Melanie (Sam) and Michael (Josie); his nieces and nephews, Eric, Anthony, Jesse, Charla, Kayla, Jonathan, Tyler, Trent, Cole, Sasha, Cheryne, Darian and Jaycee; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brianne, Peter, Peyton, Clara, Ray, Simon, Harlen, Hailey, Londyn and Luca. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, many God-children, cousins, extended family and close friends.
