It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Backmeier (Pembroke, Ontario), who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband George Backmeier; her brother Bruce Crew; and her parents, Fred Crew and Muriel Jean Crew. She is survived by: her children, Glenn Backmeier (Carla), Ian Backmeier and Lori Fitzgerald; her grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Ryan, Sephanie Fitzgerald and Zachary Backmeier; her great grandchildren, Abby, Emma-Lee, Olivia and Mia; and her sisters-in-law, Emily Crew and Barbara Crew.

In memory of Barbara, donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
