Audrey Whitworth Obituary

AUDREY WHITWORTH Audrey Marie Whitworth (Roesner), age 78 of Pembroke Ontario, passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge on Wednesday, November 1st 2017. She was born to the late Robert Albert Roesner and Esther Emilie (Resmer) on April 2, 1939 in Silver Lake near Eganville. Beloved wife of Paul Whitworth. Dear mother of Stephen, Grant (Dec"d 1983), Treena (Mark Hein).

Loving stepmother to Wil (Holly), Nicky Benfield (Lawrence) and Michelle, and step grandma to Jesse, Chase, Cora, Emily, Terrence, Liam, Willow and Lia. She is survived by siblings Myrtle Byers, Ruth Rice, Walter, Francis Tennant, Colette Simpson and Lois Goodman, and predeceased by Adeline Zohr, Irene Bimm, Gordon, Osborne and Verner.

Audrey graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and achieved a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree at the University of Ottawa in 1983. She served as a heath nurse at the Renfrew County Public Health Unit until her retirement. Audrey greatly enjoyed spending time with family, particularly the youngest generation, as well as her dog Saffy, cat Jamie and other beloved pets.

She enjoyed the outdoors and in particular loved to spend time with Paul at their property on the Bonnechere River. Over her life, Audrey served as a dedicated Kinette, travelled to Europe, Hawaii and other locales, and surprised everyone by starting her own business in retirement. Her smile, generosity and willingness to laugh at herself and at life will be greatly missed.

Her family wishes to sincerely thank all of those who cared for her during her last months. Visitation will be held at Zohr Funeral Home, Eganville on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday Nov. 5th, at 1pm at Carefor Mackay Centre, 700 Mackay St. Pembroke. Interment at Melville United Cemetery, Eganville to follow with a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Donations in her honour may be made to the Robbie Dean Centre or the Krista Johnson Memorial Fund both in Pembroke.
