“Paul was one of the great characters in Pointe au Baril. He called them as he saw them but was kind hearted behind an at times gruff exterior. Always fun to yak with, except if you criticized the Habs. I always called him Larry Paul because of the Tavern and he called me Frenchman. He scowled deeply if I ever called him anything but Larry Paul and growled “what did you call me” and smiled broadly when I corrected myself from Paul to Larry Paul. I am so sorry that he is gone. Deepest sympathy.”
