She was predeceased by: her daughter Trudy; her parents, Robert Bates and Isabelle Bates; and her siblings, Carl and Dorothy.

She is survived by: her husband Niilo Simola; her children, Brian and Brinda; her grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler (Laura) and Harley; her great grandchild Jordan; and her friend Rolanne Simms. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
