He was predeceased by: his spouse Elspeth; his parents, Erle Ellen and Mary Ellen; his brother Craig Sowden; and his parents-in-law, Jack Brown, Harvey Brown, Robert F. Brown, Margaret Gignac and Mary Dicken.
He is survived by: his children, Margie Newstead (Larry), Ernie (Brenda), Lyle (Christa), Erle (April) and Jim (Colleen); and his siblings-in-law, Ab Gignac (Helen), Cathy Murphy (Norm) and Dorothy Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
