He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Barbara Rippel; his half-sister Olga; his wife Aleksandra; his half-sister Elfriede Brandstätter (Hasan); his children, Walter Berndl (Leslie) and Elfi Berndl; his grandchildren, Marc Berndl (Jennifer Kurkoski), Anne Berndl (Murray Wilson), Elizabeth Berndl (David Calabrese), Kylie Berndl Braukman (James) and Chelsea Berndl Sherrington (Alex); his great grandchildren, Brant, Maxwell, Liam, Lucy, Ben, Sophia, Sebastian, Ian, Nathan, Lilah and Theo; his stepchildren, Julie (Akin) and Greg; his stepgrandsons, Sam and Oliver; his nephew Pauli; his mother Katharina Berndl; his friend California; and also, Harald (Denise), Gordon Gere (Eileen) and Gerti.
