She was predeceased by: her father Francis Van Niekerk; her stepfather Antonius "Toon" Spruit of The Netherlands; and her mother Johanna "Ans" Spruit of The Netherlands. She is survived by: her children, Ian Wassink, Christine Nesseth of Portage, Julie Wassink, Justin Jacobs of London, Ontario, Zachary and Nicolette Wassink of Baynes Lake; her grandchildren, Ainsley, Georgia, Jackson and Denver; her siblings, Alex, Janet Van Niekerk of Wingham, Hendrika "Rita" Van Niekerk, Rob Visser of The Netherlands, Connie Van Niekerk and Luc Stal of The Netherlands; and her nieces and nephews, Bradley, Michael, Jennifer, Sandra, Brenda, Chantal, Daniёl and Amy.
