With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Muriel Downs (Owen Sound, Ontario), who passed away on May 4, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse John Downs; her parents, Charles Gilchrist and Dorothy Gilchrist; her grandsons, Charles Downs and Trevor James Downs; her son-in-law Andy Grimm; and her siblings, Bill, Jack (Ann), Fred (Marg Carr), Betty Knott, Albert (Betty) and Harold Gilchrist.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Downs (Doreen), Owen Sound, Wayne Downs (Mary-Jo) of Edmonton, Leona Grimm of Williamsford, Dave Downs (Sue), Ken Downs (Ruth) of Owen Sound, James Downs (Deborah) of Thornhill and Betty Ann Peterkin (John Mike) of Barbados; her siblings, Gordon Gilchrist (Jean) of Alberta, Roydon Gilchrist (Joyce) of Alberta and Howard Gilchrist (Elsie) of Alberta; and her siblings-in-law, Francine Gilchrist of Barrie, Gordon Knott of Alberta and Janice Gilchrist of Milton. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
