He is survived by: his wife Roma (Helwig); his brother Wolfgang Stanecker; his niece Anna; his nephew Tobias of Germany; and his siblings-in-law, Pauline (Doug Reay), Ruth Helwig, Walter Helwig, Lorne Helwig (Katherine), Art Helwig (Dorothy) and Ken Helwig (Lorraine).
