He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy and Kathleen (Richardson); and his siblings, George (Shirley), Herb (Shirley) and June Gregg (Claude).

He is survived by: his wife Jane (Hunter); his children, Jamie (Toula) of Vancouver and Jocelyn Piersol (John) of Etobicoke; his granddaughters, Isabella and Lily Piersol; his siblings, Ron (Anita) and Sharon Bernard (Claude); and his friend Angela Rothwell.
