He was predeceased by: his spouse Dorothy; his sister Marion Lougheed; his son Robert (Bob); and his parents, Duncan and Sephrona.

He is survived by: his child Marilyn Henderson (Gabriel); his grandchild Taiya Kristiansen (Phillip); his great grandchildren, Kirsten and Robyn; and his daughter-in-law Janet Kohr.

Memorial donations can be made to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation or the Chapman House Hospice, 2 facilities where Bert received excellent care.
