He was predeceased by: his parents, William Purdy and Edith Purdy; his former wife Carolyn Purdy; his siblings, Lynn Purdy and Susan Minion; and his brother-in-law Frank Vaillant.

He is survived by: his wife Edna Ibbotson; his son Greg Purdy; his daughter-in-law Leasa Purdy; his grandchildren, Alexandra and Kyle Purdy; his siblings, Sharon Vaillant and Kevin Purdy (Deborah); his brother-in-law David Minion; and his stepdaughter Kim MacAskill (Ken). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca) in Bill's honor.
