He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Heward and Frances Heward (Westell); and his sister Beverley Brady. He is survived by: his brother John; and also Burt Jr.. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

With COVID-19, his ashes are to be buried in a private gathering at the family plot in Cornwall's Woodlawn Cemetery.
