With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilda Lynne Phillips (Ottawa, Ontario), who passed away on September 4, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her significant other Thomas Lahey (Corky); her parents, Robert Phillips and Orma Phillips; her siblings, Wilene Jeffery and Ron Phillips; her aunt Wilma; her mother-in-law Wava Lahey; her sister-in-law Paige Phillips; her nieces and nephews, Deb (Dave), Tim, Bob (Cheryl), Shannon (Kevin) and Laurel (Mike); her godson Casey Floyd; her brothers-in-law, Bob (Ruth) and Michael; and her nephews, Greg and Dale.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa YMCA Wilda Phillips Leadership Bursary Fund or The Cornerstone Housing for Women.

“I just learned of Wilda’s passing and would like to add my condolences. I worked with Wilda for many years as the Director of the YM-YWCA Head Start Nursery School from around 1976 to 1988. Those were wonderful years and very meaningful to the many low income families whose children received a boost up from the Y. I will never forget driving the Y van to pick up the children daily and working with the families when need arose. Wilda was always there as my supervisor with support. My condolences.”
