He was predeceased by: his parents, Erich and Clara. He is survived by: his wife Erika; his children, Ronald (Judy) of Bath, ON and Iris (Liana) of Ottawa; his sister Renate (Werner) of Hamburg; and his grandchildren, Erich and Laura.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
