He was predeceased by: his wife Ilona; his parents, Yrjo Arvid Murto and Aili Maria Murto; and his siblings, Kalevi, Ilkka and Marjukka.
He is survived by: his son Kimmo (Susan Humphrey); and his grandchildren, Tomi and Taija.
