She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Mae Whiessiel and T. Ernest Whiessiel; and her husband Anthony Zanin. She is survived by: her sisters, Conni M. Scott (late David) and Laurie L. Wilson (Lloyd); her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Melchiorre (Dan), Dolores Zanin, David Scott, Shawn, Stephen Wilson and Pierluigi Zanin; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Alexandrea Melchiorre, Rachel Moffa, Daniela Zanin, Audrey Wilson, Hunter, Jackson and Griffin Wilson.

“As I recall Shirley was my grade 13 math teacher. A true inspiration who taught me first year calculus instead as she knew I was smart. I got 99% as made an addition error ahaha. Then got 100% in first year calculus. If I had keep her advice and continued in math, I'd be rich now as so much changed since 1968/69 and I would have been at the front. She was just a great and kind teacher. John”
