She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Michael; her child Sean (Shawna Donaldson); her grandchildren, James Donaldson and Michael Donaldson; her child Lynn Thomson; and her siblings, David Larabie, Kenny Larabie, Faye Darby, Malcolm Larabie, Barb O'Sullivan, Perry Larabie and Joanne Krock. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Shirley would have wanted donations in her memory made to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
