He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Ralph and Myrtle McKendry of Ottawa; his wife Catherine Patterson; his siblings, Norman (Dorothy), Richard (Sheryl), James (Paula Melville) and Heather; his children, John (Catherine Fitzsimon), James (Janet McIsaac) and Jennifer Sorensen (Rikki); his stepchildren, Lucas Ladurantaye (Marie-Claude Boisvert) and Celia Ladurantaye; and his aunt Vivian Thomas. He was also cherished by five grandchildren and two step grandsons.
