He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Winter and Margaret Winter; and his sisters, Betty and Doreen. He is survived by: his wife Louise Winter; his children, April, Crystal, Christopher and Patrick; his grandchildren, Austin, Tristan, Aaron, Alyssa, Eleanor and Josephine; and his niece Linda. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or to the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.
