He was predeceased by: his wife Ann; and his parents, Jean Gillies and Ted Gillies. He is survived by: his children, Bruce (Wendy), John, Elizabeth and Martha (Kevin); his grandchildren, Steven (Miri), Merrin (Mike) and Robbie; his great grandchildren, David and Matilda; and his close friend Geraldine Rogers.
