He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Audrey; and his brothers, Tom and Jeff. He is survived by: his wife Ruth McKechnie; his children, Kerry-Leigh (Kelly), Mathew (Stephanie), Alex and Deborah; his grandchildren, Mason, Abby, Cameron and Alyson; and his siblings, David (Tina), Nancy (Bill), Brian (Catherine) and Randy (Christine).
