He was predeceased by: his parents, Barb Helmkay and Gerry Helmkay. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Murray; his sister Tracey Dawson; his nephew Tyler Dawson; his stepdaughter Emily Flesher (Colton Minor); his adoptive children, Evan and Annika Bunkis; his mother-in-law Diane Murray; his brothers-in-law, Gordon and James Murray; and his family Owen. He is also survived by family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the MS Society (https://mscanada.donorportal.ca) which Owen supported for many years in honour of his father Gerry who died of Multiple Sclerosis.
