Olive Jean Walker Obituary

With deep love and tender hearts, we celebrate the life of Olive who peacefully entered into the arms of her Savior at the age of 99. A woman of unwavering faith, Olive was the heartbeat of a family that spans five generations—a proud mother to Heather Kopansky, Nancy (Vincent) Goetz, John (Lydia) Walker, Jeffery (Helen) Walker, Judy Thayer, Ronald (Catharine) Walker. Grandmother to 16 grandchildren: Christine Black, Tanya Couch, Laura Reany, Erin Walker, Micah Walker, Justin Paterson, Julia Stanton, David Thayer, Jordan Nixon, Joshua Walker, Boden Walker, Sarah Eyre, Jessica Mroz, Matthew Wellman, Benjamin Wellman, and Jennifer Wellman. She was great-grandmother to thirteen, and great-great-grandmother to two. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker; and her beloved children Wendi Paterson and Kathryn Wellman.

Olive lived her life as a testament to God's goodness. Her days were filled with prayer, encouragement, and an unshakeable belief that no burden was too great for God to bear. She taught her children to love fiercely, forgive often, and walk humbly with the Lord.

Visitation will be held at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, on Wednesday, April 23 from 4 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at LifeCentre Kanata, 990 Teron Road, on April 24 beginning at 11:30 am, followed by a reception with time to share some memories and stories of this wonderful lady.
