Norman King Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 31, 2018 we had to say goodbye to Norman King (Ottawa, Ontario). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Joe King. He is survived by: his wife Lucile McGregor; his mother Shandel (Lipkus); and his siblings, Howard (late Gail) and Barbara Chernack (Michael) of Montreal. He is also survived by several nieces, a nephew and many loving relatives and friends.
He was the main author of "Au jeu/Play ball: The 50 Greatest Games in the History of the Montreal Expos (SABR Publications). He was in the process of completing his second book on the Expos entitled "1979: The First Great Season" for McFarland Press. Norm's humour and wit were endless. He was always ready with a quick turn of phrase, and a witty pun. This humour and joy kept him strong through his entire life. We thank the Oncology team and the Chemo Unit at the Ottawa General and family doctor B. Valia. We are eternally grateful for the magnificent Bruyère palliative care, particularly Dr. Christine Watt and Dr. Gavin Reynolds and their incredible team of nurses and PSWs. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Thursday August 2, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in the Jewish Memorial Garden, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, Osgoode. Shiva/Visitation will be held on Thursday August 2 from 3-5 & 7-9pm and Friday August 3 from 2-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Memory of Norm to the Bruyere Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Condolences/Tributes/Donations.
