With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mona Sharron Forrest (Ottawa, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 21, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Forrest and Sylvia Forrest; and her brother Ronald Forrest. She is survived by: her spouse Jackie Manthorne; her daughters, Sheanna Forrest-Manthorne (Leo Bennie) and Kassandra Reece; her grandchildren, Kyran Reece-Webb, Kaydence Reece, Kasey Reece-Webb and Karsyn Ivall-Reece of Ottawa; her children, Alexandrea Lynn Sutherland (Jalen), Hartley (Sutherland) and Emily Easter; her grandsons, Joseph and Timothy; her brother Brian Forrest (Mary); her nephew Brent (Karou); her great-niece Emily; her great-nephew Luke; her niece Caitlin (Sukhvinder); her great-nieces, Evangeline and Lillian; her close friends, Charles Becker, Sandy Millbank McKinley, Annabel Graham, Pamela Cooper, Mona and Drs; and also Erica of Toronto.
In recognition of her contributions to society, Mona was awarded the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Montreal Citizenship Council; the Service Award from Centraide/United Way Montreal; and the Citation for Citizenship from the federal Minister of Multiculturalism and Citizenship.
